I like him because he's always himself, so patient with the stupid questions, and he even invites them over for tea later. What a guy.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that he actually dresses worse IRL than he did on the show...

I have no idea how he's so patient with these reporters

Could it be he knows these interviews are coming?

I'd love to see him get a white board out and start explaining torque, internal combustion, suspension design, etc, everyday when the tabloid people show up to his house.

"The future is a very long time."
Goddamn, I love James May.

Never good when random Albanians start showing up at your doorstep.
Also, I'm of Albanian ancestry, so please, fellow Albanians, don't come knocking at my door for any perceived slight.

I would honestly bring a chair and gleefully sit through his entire lecture if he started doing that.

I'd love to go to Last Night At The Proms with James.
I bet he'd be a right laugh and so patriotic.
Nice last comment, "I am going now as I've got to go eat some Sugar Puffs".

I'm sure the scrum of reporters in front of his home is a clue...

I'm sure the scum of reporters on his front walk is something of a clue...

I posted here about his other BBC programmes. He's the best.

How in the hell did Kinja double post 3 minutes apart?

"I'm going to make a YouTube video and Shepherd's Pie. Maybe some gardening." (Or something like that) He's hilarious, I hope he does more Man Lab, that's good programming.

haha what a very British final comment "if you want a cuppa tea if your still here just knock on the door" I wonder if anyone did ask for a cuppa :D

Agreed. Man Lab was awesome.

About halfway through I lost track of who was trolling who... Well done, James May.

He wins with just that hat and sweater
Also, "Are you from the press or are you a neighbor?" cracked me up.

Loving the new hat for each interview thing too!

Random thoughts...
James May seems like a lovely guy.
He's the presenter they selected to drive the Veyron to top speed and the one who got to fly in the U2 spy plane. You don't get to do that stuff if you're unhinged; one wrong move and you're dead.
He's full of all sorts of great wisdom but got drowned out by Messrs. Clarkson and Hammond.
I love Top Gear UK and the mix of those three was wonderful but I'm looking forward to more solo work by Mr. May.
Oh, clothing-wise... the guy gives no fucks. Good on him.

You're totally right. For as much crap as May gets (including from me), he really does seem like a really genuinely good guy. In spite of the Capt. Slow moniker, all of those guys are very talented behind the wheel and he is no exception.
